Our Special Olympics Program
The Northern Skating Academy's Special Olympics skating program aims to offer sessions for skaters with disabilities to enjoy the sport of skating in a supportive and encouraging environment. Our program is currently designed as a modified Skate Canada CanSkate Learn to Skate program. We offer more on-on-one on session and reduced environmental stimulation. We hope to expand our program in the coming years to support our athletes in any on ice sport: figure skating, hockey and sledge hockey, ringette, speed skating, and just skating for the love of it!
Coach Holly Baril
Academy Director of Special Olympics Programming,
Holly is our go-to coach for all things Special O! Holly is Level 2 Special Olympics training and had had over 10 years of experience working with and coaching Special Olympics athletes. She has participated in numerous competitions including Regional Games, Provincial Games, National Games, and she has also had a spot as a Team Canada Coach for the World Games! We are thrilled to have Holly on our team and help further develop Special Olympics learn to skate opportunities in our community

$278 + HST total for 14 sessions
$60 Special Olympics Participation Fee
$62 Skate Canada & Skate Ontario fees
